BLUSHING BRIDE

Rachel was one of the sweetest brides. She had the most gorgeous skin I have seen in years and it was evident she took care of it! Her request for makeup was a more dramatic look and wanted the center of attention to be on her eyes. To accent her magnificent peaches and cream complexion and her beautiful blue eyes, I used a neutral palette of warm browns, peach and copper. Because her ceremony was outside and mid-day, the intensity of the makeup was important as I didn’t want her fair complexion to look washed out in her photos. She looked absolutely radiant and her eyes sparkled. I can’t wait to see her pictures.

GLAMMING IT UP FOR GOLDEN GLOBES

Image

Denisse needed an evening look to compliment her navy dress she was going to wear to the Globes. I wanted to give her a glam look, keeping it elegant and timeless. Her medium skin tone and dark hair called for a stronger lip and deeper eye, and of course I wanted her skin to glow for after party! Using neutral shades of shimmery browns on her eyes and plum on her lips, made her beautiful features pop.

PLAY UP YOUR EYES!

Melanie was attending a black tie event and needed an evening look. My objective was to lift the shape of her eye, accentuate the beautiful green color and keep her skin luminous. To compliment her green eyes, I applied shades of muted pinks and browns and rimmed the eyes with a black gel waterproof liner. False lashes were added to give more dimension and to give an uplifted effect. A soft pink lip was used keeping the eyes as the focal point.

Charity Event Chic

Christina wanted an evening look  that was simple and classic. My main goal was to refine the complexion, pop the eyes and make sure the makeup will be long lasting in the summer heat. To compliment her brown eyes, I used shades of  purpley-greys and lined her eyes with a waterproof charcoal eye pencil. I steered away from using too much color as she was wearing a beautiful cherry red dress with gold detail and didn’t want her makeup to overpower the dress. Christina was trying to grow out her brows so I corrected the shape using a brow pencil and powder on top to help stabilize it. I added a few individual lashes on the outer corners to widen the shape of her eye. The lips were kept neutral and shiny, drawing attention to her beautiful eyes.

Rachel gets picture perfect makeup!

Rachel is an adorable 13 year old who needed makeup for formal pictures. My main goal was to keep the makeup youthful and fresh. I also wanted to refine her skin, and to highlight her beautiful eyes.  First, I evened out Rachel’s complexion by using a matifying oil-free foundation. The best part about the foundation is that is water-resistant (which was much needed with the extreme hot temperature we are having!) I highlighted her brown eyes by using a bronze- green waterproof eyeliner, and applied  shades of shimmery champagne and bronze to her eyes. I kept her lips soft using a sheer plum-pink gloss, and her cheeks a natural pink flush. She looked so beautiful and once she put on her gorgeous cream -colored lace dress and matching sparkly champagne belt, the whole look tied together perfectly!

Blue eyes, baby’s got blue eyes!

Lindsay was attending her cousin’s wedding and needed an evening makeup  look. I wanted to highlight her big, beautiful  eyes so I used shades of plum and blackberry to contrast her eye color. I kept the lip neutral to add focus on her eyes and kept her complexion bronzed and glowing. Naturally all the makeup was waterproof so she could dance the night away without having to touch up.

Get your glow on!

As a native Canadian living in sunny Los Angeles,  I can’t help my fair skin from being exposed to the harsh rays. I am adamant about using sunscreen for two reasons. One- I want to prevent skin cancer, and two- I need to preserve my skin from aging. I finally found an amazing self tanner that is organic and made with all natural ingredients. The color is beautiful and non streaky, it leaves no odor and best of all it moisturizes your skin!  Thanks Spray di Sole for getting me all bronzed up for my trip to Palm Springs! http://www.spraydisole.com
