Lori Pinsky has created a name for herself by making women feel confident and beautiful without the look of heavy makeup. “Everybody has features that are unique,” says Lori, “I love to enhance a woman’s natural beauty, and to make her shine, not her makeup.”

Lori relocated to California from Vancouver, Canada, and has been working as a professional makeup artist for the last 29 years. A graduate from the highly acclaimed Blanche Macdonald Centre in Vancouver, Lori’s areas of expertise cover all facets of makeup including film and television, fashion editorial and commercial print, and bridal makeup.

Early on in Lori’s career, the Paris-based cosmetic company, Make Up For Ever, a cult brand for makeup artists, opened up shop in Canada. Lori was given the opportunity to manage and train all of their in-house artists for the Western Canada region. Having worked with such an extensive and artistic cosmetic line opened the door to further her explorations within the makeup industry. As the film and television industry began to increasingly grow in Vancouver, Lori decided to broaden her repertoire. She became affiliated with the Union (IATSE), and worked on numerous feature films, movies of the week, and music videos.

Lori’s editorial work has been highlighted in and on the covers of numerous Canadian and US magazines such as – Real Weddings, Nuvo, and Inside Weddings to name a few. She has also been featured in a number of national newspapers and magazines and has made television appearances on shows such as “The Shopping Bags” and “CTV Morning News” for her expert advice and insight on makeup trends.

Lori’s broad range of experience led her to teaching makeup for film and television at the Vancouver Film School and she has been invited as a guest speaker at various technical schools in and around Vancouver and Los Angeles.

Along with Lori’s entertainment industry credits, she has also made-up hundreds of brides and their bridal parties. Her ability to bring out the best features in a person with a light touch and attention to detail, while catering to each bride’s current style and comfort level, has left her highly sought after by local wedding gurus and clients alike.
